there's tenderness before you are devoured
It’s been awhile, and I’ve been busy. Edits are done for Tenderly, I am Devoured and I’m feeling all kinds of emotions as this book draws closer and closer to being in the hands of readers
It is truly the most personal thing I’ve ever written, drawing on my own complex experiences with friendship, academia, and ambition. With this book, I’m reaching new levels with my craft as a writer. And I’m just… really proud, of myself, of the teen girl whose experiences have gone into this story, and of the book itself

I have also seen an almost-finished cover! I adore it so much, it might be my favourite of all my books (don’t tell the others). It’s beautiful and different and perfectly captures the mood of my new creative direction into writing flower-threaded, summertime sadness horror
I’m still awaiting the official reveal date, but if you’d like to help me share the cover when it goes live, I’ve made a sign up page! If you register your interest, I will be in touch to arrange details
Cover reveal participants will receive:
* an early preview of the cover
* a digital, illustrated sampler of the first chapter
* a custom playlist
* my unending gratitude~
Here’s a moodboard to help set the vibes:
Tenderly, I am Devoured will be releasing July 1st, 2025 — perfect for spooky summertime (or wintertime if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere like me) reading~
In the meantime, I also have a short story published in The Crawling Moon, a collection of queer tales of horror put together by Neon Hemlock. Cryptophasia is my adult, dark academia romance full of toxic vibes and a research mission gone wrong (or right, depending on who you ask…)
It’s also set in the same universe as Tenderly, I am Devoured, which was very fun! There is a small reference to Cryptophasia in the epilogue to Devoured, so that is a little treat to look forward to in the future…
The Crawling Moon is available from Neon Hemlock press
Things I am loving lately:
Allways coffee — getting locally roasted coffee delivered to my house feels like such a treat, it’s been a fun change from buying beans at the grocery store like I usually do
Baldurs Gate 3 — 200+ hours and counting, and I haven’t been as obsessed with a game since Dragon Age: Inquisition. No prizes for guessing that I romanced Gale - because I have a type and that type is a 40 year old man with a dad bod and weird magical trauma
My new book idea — I’m about 14k words into what I hope will be my fifth (!!) book, and it’s been such a joy to immerse myself in this new idea, embracing all the messiness of a first draft
Hair ribbons from KALMA — silky, goth, and just perfect
TANIS — back when I had a day job I listened avidly to this podcast on my work commute, and it’s been quite nostalgic to revisit it again
