Happy Australian book birthday to LAKESEDGE!

I am officially a published author! LAKESEDGE is available to buy in bookstores all around Australia!

It feels so magical that the first place I’ll see my book published is my home country. This story began life over ten years ago as part of my Creative Writing Honors at The University of Adelaide - now after many twists and turns and endless hours of work, I am holding the finished version in my hands.

Although LAKESEDGE is set in a fantasy world it’s definitely a love letter to the Australia of my teen years - the mix of native and introduced species plants that grew around my home in Adelaide Hills, and the Southern Hemisphere seasons where the year began and ended in summer. It’s also the story I wanted (and needed) to see as a younger reader - filled with explorations of desire and grief and hope, with a protagonist who is flawed and foolish, even though her intentions are good.

I had the most wonderful day yesterday, celebrating the Australian release of LAKESEDGE by going into Dymocks Adelaide to sign copies. I’ll be heading back to the store this Friday (3rd September) between 5.30 - 6.30pm to do an in-store signing so please come along if you’re free! I’d love to see you and sign your book!

I’ve also been super lucky to see some lovely Australian features of my book in the media. Here’s a few of my favourites:
Dymocks Q&A and exclusive music playlist
Booktopia most anticipated books for 2021
The Curb - release day interview
#LoveOzYA elevator pitch
Review from Underground Writers

Thank you so much to everyone who reached out to congratulate me, who has picked up a copy of the book, and the early reviewers who have left such kind words about my work. You’re all wonderful!

I still have a few more fun surprises to announce for Aussie readers, so stay tuned~
